2 Weeks and Counting.......

So peaceful!
Our coming home outfit. He looks so thrilled! Everything is still a little big. My little piggy need to start gaining some weight so he can fit into all the clothes he has. And boy does he have a lot of clothes to fill.
Coopers first bath at home! He really didn't like it. I am guessing it was a little cold!
Like father, like son. Man he is already following in daddy's footsteps
Look, Cooper fits inside his Easter Basket. This is his basket from great-grandma and grandpa Reynolds. He doesn't know what to think!

Our New Addition

Well as everyone knows, we welcomed our new little addition into the world 2 1/2 weeks ago. Cooper Douglas Hodges was born Friday March 14, 2008 at 5:59 pm. He weighed 6lbs. 12 oz. at birth and was 20 in. long. Labor with him didn't go to bad, thank god for epidurals! Cooper finally got to come home on Monday March 17, 2008. I was very happy that he only lost 6 oz. in the hospital. He had to stay in the hospital an extra day because he was eating very well. I tried to breastfeed, but Cooper wasn't having any of it. I ended up having to pump so that he would have some food. I pumped for about 2 weeks and had to stop (it really wears on you). He is now on formula, which he seems to be doing very well with. He is our little piggy, that is what I call him when he is eating. He sucks those bottles down like there is no tomorrow.
We have been to the doctor twice since we came home. One for his newborn check-up and two for his 2 weeks check-up. At his newborn check-up he had gained a half ounce, which i was thrilled about. Some baby continue to loose weight once you bring them home. But not our little piggy! He had lost a half inch though. When he was born, his little head was really bruised and swollen. That explains him being 20 inches at birth. His poor head! At Coopers 2 week check-up he was back up to his birth weight (which is want they want him to be at or more) and he had grown to 20 in a quarter inches. He is getting big already! We go back to the doctor for his one month check-up on April 14th.
Since we have come home, we have had lots on visitors. Cooper doesn't always get to see them though. He is always sleeping right through it. Our animals, Saturday, Cato and Camryn seem to be adjusting well to our new addition. Saturday has had a little jealously issue, but nothing to be to alarmed with. Cato could care less that Cooper is here now, and well Camryn, what can i say. She is our curious one. She is always stiffing, trying to see what is going on.
As for getting through the night , these past 2 1/2 weeks has been good believe it or not. Daddy getting the most sleep of course because he has to get up and go to work. Cooper will sleep anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours at night. Oh I guess I am forgetting to mention that he doesn't like to sleep in his crib or cradle. He will only sleep in my arms or on my chest right now. I know that you are all thinking. I am trying to get him to adjust, so far it is not working, but i am trying. Anyone with any advice, it is sure welcomed!
Well I guess this is all that i can report right now on our new little addition. I will try and keep this updated every couple of weeks. I will add new entires on Coopers progress and new pictures so everyone can see him growing and changing.
